Gepard does not include spectra libraries out of the box. However, you can compile libraries using your own reference spectra. These libraries are used for the internal spectra evaluation tool and for display purposes in the "Results" view.
Spectra format
Each reference spectrum needs to be stored in a separate text file containing two tab-separated columns and no header. First column contains wavenumbers, and second column contains the corresponding intensities. The resulting entry in the database will be the same as the file name (the ending .txt excluded).
Compile library
-
Launch GepardEvaluation and open a project. The project is only needed to launch the full programme and is not used in any way during the database compilation.
-
Under menu
Tools
chooseManage reference spectra databases
. A window titledEdit database
will pop up. -
Under menu
Tools
of the new window, chooseCreate new database
and enter a name for the new library. You have now created an empty library. -
Select your library from the drop-down menu
Select Active Database
. -
Under
Tools
, chooseImport Spectra
andImport Witec Spectrum
. In the file dialog, navigate to the folder containing your spectra and select the spectra you wish to import. (Multiple spectra can be selected).
Modify library
A list of the spectra contained in the library appears under Spectra in Database
. By selecting a spectrum from the list, you can see a preview of the spectrum or –by clicking on the button Remove...
– remove it from the library.
Under Modify Spectra
, you can additionally crop, normalise the spectra, or perform a baseline correction on them. All three of these modifications are applied on all contents of the selected database.
Save library
After completing your modifications, click Save databases
write your changes to the disk.
Saved libraries
Each library is stored in a separate .db
file. The location of the files depends on your system. In Linux, they are probably located in ~/.local/share/Gepard Evaluation/databases
, while in Windows in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Gepard Evaluation\databases
.
